The Central Government blocked funds worth Rupees 600 crores to Kerala citing incomplete financial data.
The Union Government Centre earlier released Rs 3774 crore to Kerala based on the 14th Finance Commission recommended grants. This needs to be utilised completely for the release of the 15th Finance Commission recommended grants.
An affidavit regarding the utilisation needs to be framed and Kerala has not yet submitted the affidavit of the fund utilized.
The Ministry of Panchayati Raj had intimated the State Government for furnishing the financial data and the funds have been blocked as the state has not furnished the required expense certificate.
