CESTAT: No Sitting of Benches of the Tribunal including Regional Benches from 1 July 2020 to 15 July, 2020 due to COVID-19

The Customs, Excise, Service Taxes Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT) on Monday issued the office order which notified that There will be no sitting of Benches of the Tribunal including Regional Benches from 1 July 2020 to 15 July 2020 due to the grim situation caused by COVID 19 pandemic. However, urgent applications will be taken up for hearing.

“The last date of pronouncement of order reserved cases and release of detailed orders is extended up to 31 July 2020 and the same may be done after obtaining prior permission from the Hon’ble President,” the official order said.

The tribunal further clarified that the instructions contained in the DOPT Office Memorandums F. No.11013/9/20114-Estt. (A-III) dated 18 May 2020 will be followed with respect to the attendance of all employees including officers, personal staff of Members and outsourced staff.
