The National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes, and Narcotics (NACIN) and the National Academy of Direct Taxes (NADT) formalized an agreement today by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate the sharing of resources. These resources encompass best practices, expert faculty, training materials, and innovative technologies.
Jayant Diddi, Principal Director General (Trg.), NADT, and Dr. K.N. Raghavan, Director General, NACIN, inked the MoU. The signing ceremony witnessed the presence of Shri Ravi Agrawal, Member Administration CBDT, Shri Alok Shukla, Member (Administration and Vigilance), CBIC, Shri Ramesh Chander, ADG, NACIN, along with other senior officers from both academies. The collaboration acknowledges the value of joint efforts in sharing resources, focusing on common interests in areas such as taxation, law, legal systems, commercial and procedural laws, economic and administrative law, and advanced investigative techniques like Data Analysis, Dark Web Exploration, and Risk Management.
The MoU facilitates the exchange of best practices and resources between the Central Training Institutes, benefiting officers from CBIC and CBDT. It also allows for reciprocal training programs and a structured attachment of officer trainees from both services. The initiative builds on the need for knowledge-sharing and capacity-building, recognizing the dynamic nature of trade.
It is noteworthy that the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) had previously signed an MoU on data sharing in July 2020. This latest MoU further enhances cooperation, focusing on synergies for more effective revenue administration by addressing the training needs of officers.
ABOUT NACIN
NACIN is the apex training institute established to train the Officer trainees of Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) and also imparts in-service training for all officers and cadres under the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC). The new campus of NACIN coming up at Palasamudram is expected to be commissioned shortly. NACIN is also contributing immensely in international capacity building in the areas of Customs, Drug Law Enforcement and other Indirect Tax related issues by way of training and exchange of other capacity building resources with partner countries.

NADT Nagpur is the apex training Institute established to train the Officer Trainees of Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) and number of in-service courses for the middle to senior management level officials of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).
