COVID-19: CESTAT not to sit from August 4-14, urgent matters to be through Video Conferencing

The Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT) suspended the sitting of all Tribunals including the regional benches due to the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

It has been notified that the Benches of the Customs, Excise, and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT), including the Regional Benches, will not sit from August 4 to August 14, as a precautionary measure in view of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

The last date of pronouncement of order reserved cases and release of detailed orders is extended up to 19 August 2020 and the same may be done after obtaining prior permission from the Hon’ble President.

The Order said that the office memorandum of preventive measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 will be followed to the attendance of all employees including officers, personal staff of Members, and outsourced staff.
