The Customs Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT) had issued an office order due to the restrictions and limitations caused by the COVID-19 Global Pandemic.
In an office order issued by Justice Dilip Gupta, President of CESTAT said that there will be no sitting of Benches of the Tribunal including Regional Benches from 16 July 2020 to 31 July 2020 due to the serious situation caused by COVID 19 pandemic. However, urgent applications will be taken up for hearing as per Public Notice No.1 of 2020 dated 30.6.2020.
The office order also said that the last date of the pronouncement of order reserved cases and release of detailed orders has been extended up to 14 August 2020 and the same can be done after obtaining prior permission from the President.
The instructions contained in the DOPT Office Memorandums F. No.11013/9/20114-Estt. (A-III) dated 18 May 2020 will be followed with respect to the attendance of all employees including officers, personal staff of Members and outsourced staff.
