The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs ( CBIC ) extended the due date for filing FORM GSTR-3B for the month of July 2025. The notification No. 12/2025 Central Tax was issued on 20th August 2025, just on the due date.
As per the notification, the revised deadline for filing GSTR-3B is 27th August 2025. This extension applies to registered persons whose principal place of business is located in the districts of Mumbai (City), Mumbai (Suburban), Thane, Raigad, and Palghar in Maharashtra.
The extension has been granted under the powers conferred by Section 39(6) of the CGST Act, 2017, read with Rule 61(1)(i) of the CGST Rules, 2017, on the recommendations of the GST Council.
With this relief, taxpayers in the affected districts will not be liable for late fees or penalties if they file their July 2025 GSTR-3B by the new due date. The move comes amid incessant rains and severe monsoon conditions that have disrupted business operations, transport, and connectivity in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and adjoining districts.
