Customs Brokers Licensing Examination Slated for 18th March 2025
Candidates who pass the written examination will proceed to the oral examination, as per Regulation 6 of the Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations, 2018 (as amended)

The Customs Brokers Licensing Examination (CBLE), 2025, is scheduled to be held on March 18, 2025, as per the advertisement published in national newspapers on August 31, 2024.
The examination will be conducted in two phases: a written examination followed by an oral examination. The written examination will be computer-based and will feature multiple-choice questions in both English and Hindi. Candidates can choose to answer in either language.
According to the CBLR, "Customs Broker " means a person licensed under these regulations to act as an agent on behalf of the importer or an exporter for purposes of transaction of any business relating to the entry or departure of conveyances or the import or export of goods at any Customs Station including audit.

Key Details of the Written Examination:
- Number of Questions: 150
- Duration: 2.5 hours (10:30 AM to 1:00 PM)
- Marking Scheme: +3 for each correct answer; -1 for each incorrect answer
- Maximum Marks: 450
- Qualifying Marks: 270 (60%)
Candidates who pass the written examination will proceed to the oral examination, as per Regulation 6 of the Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations, 2018 (as amended). The qualifying mark for the oral examination is also set at 60%.

The customs brokers are regularised under Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations, 2018. These regulations shall apply to, a Customs Broker who has been licensed and such other persons who have been employed or engaged by a licensed Customs Broker under these regulations or the Customs House Agents Licensing Regulations, 1984 or the Customs House Agents Licensing Regulations, 2004 or the Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations, 2013.
