Customs extends Embedded Duty & Tax Reimbursement Deadline under RoDTEP Scheme for DTA Units
The Advisory stands relevant to both Domestic Tariff Area Units, as well as exporters under Advance Authorization/EOU and SEZ Schemes

The Office of the Commissioner of Customs, NS-II has issued an Advisory, extending the deadline for the reimbursement of embedded duties and taxes on exports by Domestic Tariff Area Units ( DTAs ), operating under the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products ( RoDTEP ) scheme.
Released on 2nd January 2024, the Advisory references Notification No.32/2024-25 dated 30th September, 2024 issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) and is intended for Exporters,Stakeholders, and Customs Brokers operating within the RoDTEP Scheme.
The RoDTEP Scheme is a governmental initiative introduced in January 2021 and facilitates the refund of duties and taxes on exports, which were previously non-refundable. The Scheme aimed to boost the export prowess of India which had been facing decline at the time.

The present advisory has extended the deadline for reimbursement of embedded duties and taxes on exported products manufactured by DTAs to 30th September, 2025.
Additionally, the Customs has clarified that goods exported/ to be exported under Advance Authorization/ EOU/ SEZ Schemes after December 31, 2024 may no longer be eligible to avail the benefits of the RoDTEP Scheme.
Furthermore, the Advisory, undersigned by Additional Commissioner Mallinath Kashinath Jeure, advises Exporters and Customs Brokers filing shipping bills under the Advance Authorization/ EOU/ SEZ Schemes to opt for the RoDTEP Scheme in accordance with the law.
