In a move to resolve the pending tax litigations, the ECGC Bar Association has urged the Prime Minister of India to issue posting orders for the selected members.

A letter sent by Adv. A C Jain, President of the Bar Association on Thursday stated that “ECGC Bar lauds the conclusion of selection process of members as judges of Customs Excise & Service Tax Appellate Tribunal which culminated in issuance of notification no  dated  by the Department of Revenue in the Ministry of Finance, New Delhi.”

“However, the posting of selected members has yet to receive attention leading to unnecessary likely interest costs to litigants for no fault or delay on their part. As stake holder in administration of justice, we request early issuance of posting order to allow benches to function and putting a question to unnecessary speculations going round the corridors,” the letter said.
