Delhi Customs issues Covid-19 Facilitation Measures: Relaxation in Procedure for Inbonding of Cargo Import under Warehouse Bill of Entry

The Delhi Customs, on Wednesday, issued relaxation in the procedure for Inbonding of Cargo import under Warehouse Bill of Entry as one of the COVID-19 facilitation measures.

The Board has extended the facility of accepting undertaking in lieu of bond vide Circular No. 23/2020 dated May 11, 2020. Public Notice No. 22/2020 dated April 3, 2020, as amended vide Public Notice No. 29/2020 dated April 22, 2020, has accordingly been further amended vide Public Notice No. 37/2020 dated May 13, 2020, and facility of acceptance of undertaking in lieu of bond has been further extended, keeping in view the extension of lockdown by the Government of India till May 17, 2020.

In the wake of COVID-19 facilitation measures amended the Public Notice addressing all the importers, customs brokers, members of the trade, and all other stakeholders.

“The importer /Authorised Customs Broker should submit the request letter Undertaking signed by the IEC holder on the Business letterhead, as prescribed under Public Notice No. 22/2020 dated 03.04.2020 from their registered email on the email of AC (Bandh Le bishamber mendiratta@lcegate.gor.in. AC (Bond) would either dispose of the request himself he is on duty or forward such request to the official email-id of AC/DC on duty according to the roster if he is not on duty,” was added in the public notice.

“Other contents of Public Notice No. 24/2020 dated 09.04.2020 as amended vide Public Notice No. 31/ 2020 dated 22.04.2020 remain unchanged. Public Notice No. 24/2020 dated 09.04.2020 as amended vide Public Notice No. 31/ 2020 dated 22.04.2020 stands amended to this extent,” the circular said.
