The Directorate of Income Tax ( Investigation ), Delhi, has established a 24X7 Control Room at the Civic Centre in New Delhi and also released a toll free number to combat unaccounted cash, bullion, and other valuables suspected to be utilised for electoral purposes during the Model Code of Conduct within the National Capital Territory ( NCT ) of Delhi.
The individuals can communicate any relevant information to the Income Tax Department concerning suspicious transactions or distributions of cash, bullion, and other valuables within the NCT of Delhi in connection with the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The department has assured that the details of the informer will not be disclosed.
The Control Room is located at Room No. 17, Ground Floor, C-Block, Civic Centre, New Delhi-110002, can be reached through the Toll-free Number: 1800112300. Furthermore, individuals can contact the Control Room via the following landline numbers: 011-23232312/31/67/76, and the Toll-free Mobile Number: 9868168682.
The Control Room will remain operational throughout the duration of the Model Code of Conduct in Delhi, commencing from the announcement of the General Elections 2024.
To make sure elections are fair, citizens are asked to share any important information with the Directorate using the contact numbers mentioned regarding the illicit cash transactions or bullion or valuables, especially about Delhi.
