DGFT activates online mode to Review Norms of Advance Authorization by Norms Committee – TAXSCAN
The DGFT has implemented an online mechanism for reviewing the norms of advance authorization by the Norms Committee. This update was communicated by the DGFT through Trade Notice No. 10/2023, issued on June 23, 2023.
As a part of its initiative to enhance the exporter/importer services, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has transitioned the process of Norms Fixation/Review of Norms from physical mode to an electronic mode.
The applicants seeking Norms Fixation/Review of Norms from NC-7 are now required to apply online through the DGFT website (https://www.dgft.gov.in).
For Review of Norms: CP portal >> Services under Norms Fixation >> Initiate Review.
Accordingly, the applications for Norms Fixation / Review of Norms will need to be
submitted online as per the above link.

- Raise a service request ticket through the I)GFT Helpdesk service under Services
-> 'Trade Helpdesk Service'

- Send an email to the Helpdesk on dgftedi@gov.in.
It was also stated that no hard copy/email of applications from NC-7 shall be accepted with effect from the issuance of this Trade Notice.
Recently, the DGFT through the notification issued on 25th April, 2023 has extended the validity of the ad hoc norms of the advance authorisation till March 31, 2026. The main agenda of the notification issued by the DGFT was to amend paragraph 4.12(vi) of the Handbook procedures, 2023 of DGFT.
As per the amendment, norms will be ratified by the any Norms Committee (NC) on or after 1.04. 2015 in respect of any Advance Authorisation (AA) obtained under paragraph 4.07 of Handbook Procedures 2015-20 shall also be valid further up to 31st, March 2026.
