The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has issued a public notice to amend the input quantity requirements for a specific export product under SION A-1303.
SIONs are guidelines that specify the standard quantity of inputs required to produce a unit of export product, essential for availing duty-free import benefits under the Advance Authorization scheme.

What’s Been Amended
Export Product: Di-Octyl Phthalate (DOP), a commonly used PVC plasticizer
Amendment at SION A-1303, Serial No. 2:
Import Item | Existing Quantity | Amended Quantity |
2-Ethylhexanol (Octanol) | 0.700 kg | 0.680 kg |
Note: The quantity for Phthalic Anhydride (0.400 kg) remains unchanged.

The input quantity of 2-Ethylhexanol allowed per 1 kg of DOP exported is reduced from 0.700 kg to 0.680 kg. This means exporters will be eligible to import slightly less of this raw material duty-free under the Advance Authorization.
The change is effective immediately.
