The Directorate of Foreign Trade (DGFT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, vide notification No. 16 / 2023 published on 21st June 2023 has amended the Standard Input Output Norm (SION) E-121 for export of Refined Soyabean Oil (edible grade) with revised import entitlements.
The DGFT amended SION E-121 in accordance with the authority granted by paragraph 1.03 of Foreign Trade Policy, 2023, as revised from time to time.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), subsequent to the approval of the Ministry of the Commerce and Industry, notified the amendment in Annexure 2X of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023, vide notification No. 14 /2023 on 14th June 2023.

In a recent ruling, the Karnataka High Court held that only the Central Government can make provision for prohibiting, restricting, or regulating the import or export of goods or services, or technology and not the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) in relation to the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), thereby granting relief to M/s Patanjali Foods Limited, the petitioner.
