The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) enabled the option of the Amnesty Scheme for the One-Time Settlement in the Portal.
The scheme entails authorizations issued under the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), 2009–14, till 31.03.2015, including Advance Authorization (all variations) and Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG).
Under the scheme, the exporters who had violated any provisions of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2015-20, and other export-related laws can declare such violations by filing an online application with the DGFT.
The steps are:
For EPCG, navigate to Services — EPCG > Closure of EPCG
Exporters have a single chance under the DGFT Amnesty programme to come straight and escape the punishment for prior infractions. The plan has significantly relieved the burden on India’s exporters and inspired many of them to come forward and admit their prior transgressions.
Amnesty schemes can be related to various areas such as taxation, customs, foreign trade, immigration, and environmental regulations.
The objective of such schemes is to provide an opportunity for non-compliant individuals or entities to rectify their past violations and become compliant in the future.
On 17th April 2023, the DGFT issued the procedures on an application for filing an amnesty scheme for One-Time Settlement of Default in Export Obligation by Advance Authorisation (AA) holders and Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) holders.
All the authorisation holders who are interested to avail the scheme under shall register themselves in the website www.dgft.gov.in in a separate application provided for the purpose of filing the amnesty scheme with all relevant details.
