The Directorate General of Foreign Trade ( DGFT ) has issued Notification No. 16/2024-25 dated June 06, 2024, enabling provisions for the import of inputs subjected to mandatory Quality Control Orders ( QCOs ) by Advance Authorisation holders, Export Oriented Units ( EOUs ), and Special Economic Zones ( SEZs ).
Under the authority conferred by Section 3 and Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, in conjunction with Para 1.02 and 2.03 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), 2023, the Central Government has enacted amendments pertaining to Advance Authorisation as outlined in para 2.30(A) (i) (g) of FTP, 2023. These amendments, notified through Notification No. 71/2023 dated March 11, 2024, are effective immediately.
Existing Policy [para 2.30(A) (i) (g)]
The Export Obligation period for such authorizations shall be as per 4.40 of Handbook of Procedures. However, EO period is restricted to 180 days from the date of clearance of import consignments in respect of QCO exemption for textile Products.
