The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has improved its online system for self-certifying electronic Bank Realisation Certificates (eBRC). They have added new features like API integration and bulk upload to make the process easier and faster for exporters.

This upgrade follows a pilot phase that started on 10th November 2023, which was designed to simplify the reconciliation of export payments for both goods and services. Now, with the new system, banks are directly connected to the DGFT's eBRC system, allowing automatic transmission of Inward Remittance Messages (IRMs).

Exporters can log in to the DGFT website, review these messages from their banks, and easily certify their eBRCs by matching them with the correct invoice or Shipping Bill details.

Starting from 20th August 2024, DGFT has introduced two key features to further streamline this process. The first is a bulk upload option, which allows exporters to generate multiple eBRCs at once by uploading a spreadsheet with the required details. This feature aims to reduce errors and save time.

The second feature is API integration, which lets exporters connect their own software systems directly with the DGFT eBRC system for real-time data retrieval and secure eBRC certification.

Exporters who want to use the API integration need to register online and manage access to the API themselves. To help exporters use these new features, DGFT has provided user manuals on its website and will be organising outreach programs for further guidance. They also encourage feedback and offer support through various channels.

Exporters and other stakeholders can seek assistance for eBRC-related issues by contacting the DGFT Helpdesk. Support is available through a toll-free helpdesk number or by raising a Helpdesk ticket on the DGFT website, where they can also track the status of their previously filed tickets.
