The Ministry of Commerce & Industry, through its Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), has issued Notification No. 51/2024-25 dated January 26, 2025, announcing the extension of the "Free" import policy for Tur/Pigeon Peas (Cajanus Cajan) under ITC(HS) Code 0713 60 00. The import policy, previously set to expire on March 31, 2025, will now remain in effect until March 31, 2026.
This decision is authorized under Sections 3 and 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, and in line with the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023, aims to ensure continued trade facilitation and the availability of Tur/Pigeon Peas in the domestic market.

The notification states that the import policy condition has been revised to allow "Free" import of Tur up to March 31, 2026.

The notification was issued with the approval of the Minister of Commerce & Industry and signed by Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Director General of Foreign Trade and Ex-Officio Additional Secretary, Government of India.
