In its ongoing commitment to improve trade facilitation and establish effective mechanisms for addressing grievances, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has introduced a valuable new resource, a centralized Video Conference (VC) facility at DGFT headquarters, aimed at benefiting the exporting community.
Starting from November 8, 2023, this centralized Video Conference facility will be accessible every Wednesday, from 10 am to 12 noon, at the DGFT headquarters. During these designated hours, senior officers from DGFT Headquarters will be available to address issues that have not been resolved by various DGFT Regional Authorities (RAs) despite their concerted efforts.
This facility serves as a platform for representatives from the trade and industry sectors to present their suggestions for improvements and raise concerns related to DGFT systems. It provides an opportunity for stakeholders to interact directly with DGFT officials, ensuring a more streamlined and responsive approach to trade-related matters.
Interested parties who wish to make use of this facility can register on the DGFT portal at www.dgft.gov.in. By selecting the ‘Centralized VC with HQs’ option under ‘services,’ they can request a slot for participation. Preference will be given to those who have registered in advance, and as time permits, the VC will be opened to accommodate additional participants waiting in the VC lobby. The availability of time slots for this facility will be adjusted based on the response received from the trade and industry community, aiming to cater to the growing demand for this service.
It’s important to note that the existing facilities, such as daily online VCs with all Regional Authorities of DGFT and individual appointments with concerned officers of Regional Authorities over VC, will continue as usual. DGFT’s commitment to improving trade facilitation and addressing the needs of the exporting community remains steadfast, and the introduction of this centralized Video Conference facility is a step toward achieving these goals.
