DGFT mandates EIC/EIA or SHEFIXIL Certificate for Export of Food Supplements Containing Botanicals to EU and UK [Read Notification]

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) vide notification no. 31/2023 issued on 11th September 2023 has amended the export policy of food supplements containing botanicals. As per the notification, food supplements that contain botanical ingredients and fall under the ITC HS codes 1302 and 2106, and are intended for consumption by humans or animals, must obtain an official certificate from either EIC/EIA or SHEFIXIL in order to be exported to the European Union and the United Kingdom. SHEFEXIL is authorized to issue this official certificate, and it will be valid for a duration of three months starting from the date of this notification.
