DGFT notifies Export Quota of Broken Rice for LCs prior to Sep 08, 2022 for the FY 2022-23 [Read Notification]

The Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has notified the export quota of broken rice for LCs prior to September 08, 2022 for the FY 2022-23 and amended the Export Policy of broken rice against ITC (HS) code 1006 40 00 of chapter 10 of Schedule 2 of the ITC (HS) export policy from “free” to “prohibited” w.e.f. September 09, 2022.

The DGFT has allowed export of broken rice for period from September 09, 2022 till September 15, 2022 for the following consignments:

i. where loading of broken rice on the ship has commenced before the above Notification;

ii. where the shipping bill is filed and vessels have already berthed or arrived and anchored in Indian ports and their rotation number has been allocated before the above Notification; The approval of loading in such vessels will be issued only after confirmation by the concerned Port Authorities regarding anchoring/berthing of the ship for loading of broken rice prior to the above Notification; and

iii. where broken rice consignment has been handed over to the Customs before the above Notification and is registered in their system.

The DGFT vide Notification No. 38/2015-2020 dated October 12, 2022, notified quota of 3,97,267 MT for export of said broken rice only for the LCs opened before NN. 31/2015-2020 and the message exchange date between the Indian and foreign bank / swift date has been prior to September 8, 2022 for the export during the Financial Year 2022-23, as per procedure to be notified separately by DGFT.
