The Director General of Foreign Trade, in exercise of powers under the Foreign Trade Policy ( FTP ) 2023, has announced amendments to the registration procedures for import consignments of Yellow Peas under the Yellow Peas Import Monitoring System ( YP-IMS ). These changes are applicable to import consignments arriving at Indian ports after March 31, 2024.

Extended Registration Timeline: The requirement mentioned in Para (b) of Public Notice 35/2023 is now revoked. Importers are now required to undertake YP-IMS registration within 7 days from either the date of Bill of Lading or the date of this Public Notice, whichever is later.

Bill of Lading Declaration: Importers must declare Bill of Lading ( Shipped on Board ) details in the YP-IMS registration. They can specify multiple Bills of Lading details under a single YP-IMS registration.

Mandatory Upload of Bill of Lading Copies: All copies of Bills of Lading ( Shipped on Board ) must be uploaded during the registration process. Importers have the option to mask the Exporter details on these copies.

Impact of the Amendment: These changes modify the timelines and procedures for registering Yellow Peas imports (ITC (HS) Code 07131010) under the YP-IMS arriving at Indian ports post-March 31, 2024.
