The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has activated a separate Global Tariff and Trade Helpdesk amid global tariff changes. The directorate has notified trade notice no. 01/2025-26 on 11th April 2025. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has activated a separate Global Tariff and Trade Helpdesk amid global tariff changes. The directorate has notified trade notice no. 01/2025-26 on 11th April 2025.

As different nations institute new tariff and counter-tariff policies, Indian businesses are confronting both nascent opportunities as well as mounting pressures across industries. To effectively address these, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade has encouraged exporters as well as importers to provide ground-level inputs and suggest policy interventions.

The just commissioned Global Tariff Challenges Helpdesk is intended as a one-stop support portal for the resolution of a broad range of trade-related issues. These are import and export difficulties, dumping and import increase, EXIM clearance delay, logistics and supply chain bottlenecks, financial and banking difficulties, regulatory or compliance issues, and other related issues or recommendations.

Worth Mentioning is the fact that the Helpdesk shall also serve as a coordinating body, bringing together issues that involve other Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of both the Central and State Governments in order to ensure timely response.

To raise an issue, members of the export-import fraternity can go to the official website of DGFT (https://dgft.gov.in), go to the Services page, and click on the DGFT Helpdesk Service. Thereafter, they can build a new request, pick the category 'Global Tariff and Trade Issues,' and opt for a pertinent sub-category like Import Challenges, Export Challenges, Import Surges or Dumping, EXIM Clearance, Logistics or Supply Chain Challenges, Regulatory Compliance Issues, or Other Suggestions. Oncethey provide the mandatory details, users can post the request online. Alternatively, the concerns can be sent by email at dgfted@nic.in with the subject "Global Tariff and Trade Helpdesk" or by calling the toll-free helpline number at 1800-111-550.

DGFT has also launched a status tracker under its DGFT Helpdesk Services. Users will be updated in real time by email and SMS whenever the status of their ticket is updated.
