DGFT Restores RoDTEP Benefits for AAs, SEZs, and EOUs Effective from June 1, 2025 [Read Notification]

The Ministry of Commerce & Industry has issued Notification No. 11/2025-26 dated 26th May 2025, announcing the restoration of benefits under the RoDTEP (Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products) scheme for Advance Authorisation (AA) holders, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), and Export-Oriented Units (EOUs). The benefits will be applicable from June 1, 2025.

The decision was taken under the powers granted by the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, and the Foreign Trade Policy 2023 marks a major relief for exporters who have been lobbying for the inclusion of these categories under the RoDTEP framework.

Key Highlights:

• RoDTEP support had earlier been excluded for AAs, SEZs, and EOUs.
• With this notification, these exporters can now claim rebates on embedded duties and taxes that are not otherwise reimbursed.
• The move is expected to enhance export competitiveness and reduce costs for exporters operating under these schemes.

The updated RoDTEP rates and aligned HS codes, in accordance with the Finance Act, 2025, are available in Appendix 4RE and can be accessed on the DGFT portal at www.dgft.gov.in under the section “Regulations > RODTEP”.

The notification was issued with the approval of the Minister of Commerce & Industry and signed by Ajay Bhadoo, Director General of Foreign Trade and Additional Secretary to the Government of India.

This development is expected to provide a significant boost to Indian exports by making schemes like AA, SEZ, and EOU more attractive to exporters seeking cost efficiency and global competitiveness.
