DGFT Revises Operational Areas for 24 Pre-Shipment Investigation Agencies, Notifies 16 New Agencies [Read Notification]

The directorate has instructed that the notified PSIA must ensure to update their membership certificate of MRAI/ISRI/IFIA and their office address and contact details within 30 days

The DGFT ( Directorate General of Foreign Trade) has revised the operational areas for 24 PSIAs ( Pre-shipment Inspection Agency ) and also notified 16 new agencies, vide public notice no. 11/2024-25 dated 12th June 2024. Along With this these, 02 existing PSIAs have been allowed to add additional instruments to their existing instruments

Pre-shipment inspection is a quality check process before the goods consignment is shipped. This will assess the product, its performance and other features for ensuring that no products which are not in quality terms will be shipped. The agencies who do these inspections are ‘Pre-shipment Inspection Agency.

Thus, this is an important step before the shipments. The DGFT has provided the name, address details and its other branches in different countries.

Similarly, the directorate has provided the list of 24 PSIAs and its area of operations. 16 Agencies are notified as PSIA and additional instruments in respect of 02 existing PSIAs have been notified. Area of operation of 24 existing PSIA has been revised.

The directorate has instructed that the notified PSIA must ensure to update their membership certificate of MRAI/ISRI/IFIA and their office address and contact details within 30 days.

The above agencies at S.No. 1 to 16 above are recognized for issuance of Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificates as per provisions of Para 2.52 (c) of HBP, 2023 from the date of issue of this Public Notice. Hence, the PSIAs approved shall have a validity period of 03 years or till such time to be notified by DGFT, whichever is earlier. Details of approved spectrometers and survey meters for issuance of PSIC by these agencies are annexed.

The following 02 existing Pre-Shipment Inspection Agencies have been allowed to add additional instruments to their existing instruments as per the Annexure of this Public Notice:
