According to Notification No. 3/2015-20, issued on April 20, 2015, the export of sugar (HS Code 17010000) to the USA and the EU under the TRQ is allowed on a ‘Free’ basis, subject to specified conditions.

A Certificate of Origin, necessary for preferential access, will be issued by the Additional Director General of Foreign Trade in Mumbai, based on recommendations from the Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA).

APEDA will manage the TRQ scheme as the designated implementing agency, overseeing the quota allocation and ensuring that all certification and reporting requirements are met. The export quota is valid from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025.
