DGFT suspends Menthol from SION/Adhoc Norms with Immediate Effect [Read Notification]
During this review period, no Advance Authorisation and/or Duty-Free Import Authorisation (DFIA) will be issued for Menthol covered under the aforementioned ITC(HS) codes

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade ( DGFT ) has issued Public Notice No. 48/2023 dated March 07, 2024, announcing the immediate suspension of Menthol from Standard Input-Output Norms ( SION ) and/or Ad-hoc Norms.
Under the powers conferred by paragraph 1.03 and 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy ( FTP ), 2023, the DGFT has made amendments to the Handbook of Procedures ( HBP ) and SION.
Menthol, which falls under ITC (HS) codes 29061100, 30039021, 33012590, and 33012400, is now suspended from SION/Ad-hoc norms until further review. This suspension applies to all instances where Menthol appears in any SION and/or ad-hoc norms.
During this review period, no Advance Authorisation and/or Duty-Free Import Authorisation ( DFIA ) will be issued for Menthol covered under the aforementioned ITC (HS) codes.
