The imposition of a 28% Goods and Services Tax ( GST ) has placed the online gaming industry in a precarious situation. In response to this development, Harsh Jain, the CEO of the leading gaming company Dream11, has shared the last year’s achievements of the company through social media.

According to the details shared, the company has on boarded 5.5 crores news users. The company has a total users of 21 crore. Also, the company faced a growth in female users by 79% YoY. Dream11, along with Games24x7 and Mobile Premier League (MPL), is recognized as one of the three gaming unicorns in India, with each of them holding a valuation exceeding $1 billion.

In the preceding year, 2023, notable statistics were disclosed, showcasing a remarkable performance on the platform. A staggering 1,000 crore fantasy sports teams were created, accompanied by an impressive tally of 150 crore transactions through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). It is noteworthy that the average ticket size for these activities amounted to a modest Rs 63, underscoring the widespread participation and accessibility of these fantasy sports endeavours.
