The Ministry of Finance issued Notification No. G.S.R. 71(E) dated January 23, 2025 amending the NDPS (Regulation of Controlled Substances) Order, 2013, adding several substances to Schedules B and C to enhance oversight and control.
This notification is issued under the powers granted by Section 9A of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act, 1985).
The amendment is formally titled "Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Regulation of Controlled Substances) Amendment Order, 2025." It becomes effective immediately upon its publication in the Official Gazette.

Some of the important additions are 4-piperidone, 1-boc-4-piperidone, and multiple variants of P-2-P methyl glycidic acid esters, such as ethyl ester, propyl ester, and butyl ester. These substances are now listed under serial numbers 28 to 45 in Schedules B and C.
