Finance Ministry Changes Madurai Debts Recovery Tribunal Location from Uthangudi to Tallakulam [Read Notification]

The Ministry of Finance issued Notification No. S.O. 5630(E) dated December 30, 2024, announcing the relocation of the Debts Recovery Tribunal, Madurai. As per the official notification, the tribunal's operations will shift from its current address at Kalyani Towers, Uthangudi, to a new facility at the BSNL Level IV Building in the CTO Compound, Tallakulam.

The change effective December 7, 2024, aims to improve accessibility and operational efficiency. The previous location, situated on the third and fourth floors of Kalyani Towers, 4/162 Madurai-Melur Road, Uthangudi, will no longer house the tribunal. The new premises at Tallakulam are located on the first floor of the BSNL building at Madurai-625002.

The decision was executed under Section 3 of the Recovery of Debts and Bankruptcy Act, 1993, as detailed in a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance's Department of Financial Services. Sudhir Shyam, Economic Adviser, signed off on the notification.

S.O. 5630(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the Recovery of Debts and Bankruptcy Act, 1993 (51 of 1993), the Central Government hereby notifies the following change in the location of Debts Recovery Tribunal, Madurai with effect from 07.12.2024 (Saturday) from the place mentioned in Column 2 to the place mentioned in Column 3 in the Table below:
