Finance Ministry Continues ADD on 'Digital Offset Printing Plates' Imports from China, Japan, Korea, and Others [Read Notification]

The Ministry of Finance issued Notification No. 28/2024-Customs (ADD) dated December 26, 2024, announcing the continuation of an anti-dumping duty (ADD) on imports of "Digital Offset Printing Plates." This duty applies to products imported from or exported by China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam.

The concerned authority investigated and published its findings in the Gazette of India on September 28, 2024. It concluded that if the existing anti-dumping duty on these goods is removed, dumping is likely to continue which could harm the domestic industry. The authority recommended continuing the anti-dumping duty on such imports to address this.

The anti-dumping duty imposed through this notification will remain effective for five years from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette, unless it is revoked, superseded, or amended earlier. The payment for the duty shall be made in Indian currency, in accordance with the applicable exchange rates as determined by the Ministry of Finance from time to time.
