The Ministry of Finance of the Government of India has presented the Economic Survey 2024-25. The Economic Survey has been tabled by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Lok Sabha at 12 P.M. and in the Rajya Sabha at 2 P.M., preceding the presentation of the Union Budget 2025-26 on 1 February, 2025.
The Economic Survey is a comprehensive report of the current economic trajectory of the nation, and serves as a prelude to the forthcoming budget, laying the reasoning and groundwork for economic decisions that are set to impact millions of Indians.
Offering critical insights into the health of the economy, the 2024-25 Economic Survey is particularly important as India has moved steadfastly to secure its position in global economic markets while facing looming hurdles of inflation, political shift and volatile energy markets while inching towards a digital future.

At the start of 2024, economic growth was touted to reach 7%, catapulting India among the fastest-expanding economies across the globe. Projections suggested that India could achieve a $4 trillion economy in 2024-25 and ascend to the third-largest global economy by the year 2027.
As is tradition, the Economic Survey is presented in the Parliament a day before the presentation of the Union Budget.
Following the presentation of the Budget, the Finance Minister along with key members of the Ministry of Finance, Government of India shall convene a press conference to introduce the allocation of budget and the proposed economic changes, to the anticipating 1.4 Billion citizens of the Republic of India.
The Press Conference following the Economic Survey 2024-25, shall be streamed Live on the YouTube channel of the Press Information Bureau India, beginning at 2:00 P.M. IST.
