The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) sealed the Taj Banjara hotel in the upscale Banjara Hills due to alleged non-payment of property tax amounting to Rs 1.40 crore. The action towards the popular hotel Banjara is for collecting the accumulated tax dues.
The GHMC issued several notices. The decision to seize the hotel was allegedly made because the management had not paid the taxes. According to GHMC officials, the Taj Banjara management has not paid property taxes for two years and has not complied with multiple notices.
