The Ministry of Finance amended the Courts for trial of cases under Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA) in Kerala.
In consultation with the Chief Justice of the concerned High Court, the Central Government notified the amendments in the notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section(ii), vide number S.O. 372(E), dated the 5th February, 2016,
The Government empowered conferred under section 43(1) of the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002, and in consultation with the Chief Justice of the concerned High Court, the Central Government notified various Courts in Kerala for different areas.
Firstly, the Principal Sessions Court at Ernakulam (Kochi) for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Idukki, Kottayam and Ernakulam.
Secondly, the Principal Sessions Court at Kozhikode (Calicut) for Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod.
Thirdly, Additional Special Sessions Court for SPE/CBI cases, Thiruvananthapuram for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kottayam.
Fourthly, Special Court for SPE/CBI Cases-I / Special Court for cases investigated by NIA, Ernakulam and Special Court for SPE/CBI Cases-II / Special Court for cases investigated by NIA, Ernakulam for Entire state of Kerala.
Fifthly, Additional Special Sessions Court (SPE/CBI Cases)-III, Ernakulam for Thodupuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Manjeri, Kozhikode, Kalpetta, Thalassery and Kasaragod.
