The Central Govt has authorised 4 ports for exporting the essential commodities to Maldives in 2024-25. Apart from the listed customs stations, no other stations are allowed for export.

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 read with Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, as amended, read with paragraph 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), 2023, the Central Government incorporated following conditions in Notification No. 03/2023 dated 05.04.2024 for exporting of essential commodities to Maldives under bilateral trade agreement between Government of India and Government of Maldives: –

Export of essential commodities under Prohibited/restricted category to the Republic of Maldives during 2024-25 shall be permitted only through the following 4 Customs Stations: –

  1. Mundra Sea Port
  2. Tuticorin Sea Port
  3. NhavaSheva Sea Port (JNPT)
  4. ICDTughlakabad

Recently, the Government has permitted export of 9 essential goods to Maldives in 2024-25 under the bilateral trade agreement between Government of India and Government of Maldives. The government has permitted the export of Eggs, Potatoes, Onions, Rice and more in specified quantities.
