Govt. exempts Customs Duty, Health Cess on Import of COVID-19 Test Kits, Ventilators, PPE, Face Masks

The Ministry of Finance has exempted the Customs Duty, Health Cess on Import on COVID-19 Test Kits, Ventilators and Face Masks.
In the context of COVID-19 situation, considering the immediate requirement of ventilators and other items, the Central Government has granted exemption from Basic Customs Duty and Health cess, on the import of the Ventilators, Face masks, surgical Masks, Personal protection equipment (PPE), COVID-I9 test kits and inputs for the manufacture of the above items with immediate effect.
The basic customs duty exemption shall be available upto the 30″ September, 2020.
