The Finance Ministry extended the due date for filing Form 16 to employees to 15th June, 2017. The last date for filing the form was earlier fixed to 31st May 2017.

Form 16 under Income Tax Act is a certificate from the employer certifying that TDS has been deducted on your salary by the employer. If an employer deducts TDS on salary, he must issue income tax Form 16 as per income tax rules. Form no 16 is issued once in a year, on or before 31st May of the next year immediately following the financial year in which tax is deducted.
