Govt notifies Court of Session as Special Court for trial of cases under PMLA in Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh [Read Notification]

Special Court - trial of cases - PMLA in Haryana - Taxscan

The Government notified the Court of Session designated as Special Court under the Prevention of Money-Laundering Act, 2002 for the trial of cases under PMLA in Haryana, Punjab, and in the Union Territory of Chandigarh.

The government empowered under sub-section (1) of section 43 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 and in consultation with the Chief Justice and Judges, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, notified amendments in the notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue).

In case of Haryana the Sessions Judge, Ambala will undertake the cases for the Revenue Districts of Ambala, Kaithal,kurukshetra, Panchkula and Yamunanagar.

The Sessions Judge, Gurgaon  will undertake the cases for the Revenue Districts of Faridabad, Gurgaon, Mewat, Narnaul and Rewari.

The Special Judge, Central Bureau of Investigation, Haryana, Panchkula will undertake the cases for the whole State of Haryana.

The Court of Additional Session Judge-I, Panchkula will have jurisdiction OF Panchkula, Bhiwani, Fatehabad, Hisar, Jhajjar, Jind Palwal, Karnal, Charkhi Dadri Mahendragarh, Panipat, Rohtak, Sonipat and Sirsa.

In the case of Punjab, Court of Sessions Judge Jalandhar will undertake the cases for the Revenue Districts of Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Nawanshahr and Tarn Taran.

The Court of Special Judge-I and II, CBI, Punjab, Mohali will undertake the cases for the Punjab.

The Court of Additional Sessions Judge-I, Jalandhar will undertake the cases of Ferozepur, Moga, Pathankot and Ludhiana.

The Court of Additional Sessions Judge-I, Mohali will undertake the cases of Mohali, Patiala, Rupnagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Sangrur, Barnala, Mansa, Bathinda, Muktsar, Fazilka and Faridkot.

In the case of Union territory of Chandigarh Sessions Judge, Chandigarh and Special Judge (Central Bureau of Investigation), Chandigarh will undertake the cases of Revenue District of Chandigarh.
