The Government notified the levy of 5% Customs Duty on open cell for LED/LCD TV panels from October 1.
The Ministry of Finance empowered under section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962; section 3(12) of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 on being satisfied that it is necessary for the public interest so to do, amended the notification No. 50/2017 Customs, dated the 30th June, 2017.
In the said notification, in the Table, against S. No. 515A. for the entry in column (4), the entry “5%” shall be substituted and in the first proviso, clause (d) shall be omitted.
This notification shall come into force with effect from the 1 October, 2020.
