The GST Council has decided to provide an opportunity to revoke the cancellation of GST Registration.
The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the Taxpayers who could not get cancelled GST registrations restored in time are being given an opportunity to apply for revocation of cancellation of registration up to September 30, 2020, in all cases where registration has been cancelled till June 12, 2020.
The CBIC had allowed the businesses to apply for revocation of cancellation of their GST registration till July 22, 2019.
The CBIC had also provided to file their pending returns and pay due taxes. These businesses earlier had their GST registrations cancelled due to non-filing of tax returns.
Recently, The GST Network had decided to make Aadhaar authentication or physical verification mandatory for GST Registration from January 2020.
