GST Council Special Meet for MSMEs: CBIC directs Officials to collect Data [Read Letter]

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has directed the officials to collect data relating to the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) in connection with the special meeting of the GST Council on 4^th August 2018.

The 28th GST Council Meeting held on 22nd July, 2018, had decided to have a GST Council Meeting exclusively to focus upon the issues hardships faced by MSMEs related to GST tentatively on 4th August.The session would consider on all aspects of GST with specific focus upon law, policy, procedure, notifications, rates, GSTN related issues etc. effecting the MSME taxpayers / sector.”

In this connection, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has requested its officers to contact the MSME taxpayers and their trade & Industry Associations in their respective zones, and collect their grievances / issues related to GST along with suggestions thereof for mitigating the issues.

“Further, such issues may be consolidated in a broadsheet (as per the format given below) highlighting the grievances, trade suggestions and your valuable comments / feedback/ recommendations and the same may be forwarded to the office of Directorate General of Goods & Services Tax (DGGST), New Delhi positively by 27th July, 2018,” the CBIC said in a statement.
