The Income Tax Department has seized a truck loaded with tobacco products (gutkha) worth over Rs. 1 crore during a special raid conducted in Srirampur, a border town in Assam.
According to official sources, the truck was intercepted while it was traveling from Delhi to Guwahati. The vehicle was carrying expensive tobacco goods without valid Goods and Services Tax (GST) documents, which raised immediate suspicion. The truck bore the registration number NL01 N6619.

Upon inspection, officials found that the truck was not carrying proper tax invoices or e-way bills, which are mandatory for transporting goods across states under GST law. The driver, identified as Yasir Khan, has been taken into custody for further questioning.
Initial findings suggest that this incident is part of a larger network involved in moving goods without paying the required taxes. The authorities believe that the seized truck is just one piece of a bigger operation that may involve several individuals and vehicles illegally transporting goods across states.

Both the truck and the tobacco consignment are now in custody, and a deeper investigation is underway. Officials are trying to trace the entire supply chain, including the source of the goods, the intended recipient, and any other people or companies connected to this case.
