The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) Portal will not be available from 27th August 2018 (11:00 PM onwards) to 28th August (till 6:00 AM), GSTN said Today.

As the Goods and Services Tax Network ( GSTN ) is planning a major disaster recovery drill of GST System, the taxpayers cannot access the portal for two days. The GST System services will not be available during this time.

“All are requested to plan their GST compliance activities accordingly. The inconvenience that may be caused is deeply regretted,” the official twitter handle of the GST Portal tweeted Today. “All are requested to plan their GST compliance activities accordingly.

The Goods and Service Tax laws were implemented in the country on 1st July 2017. Unlike the old tax regime, the new indirect tax law mandates the compulsory filing of returns through electronic mode. From the very first month of GST rollout, the technical glitches in the portal cause troubles to both taxpayers and professionals. Several times, the Government was compelled to extend the return filing due dates frequently as the system was not working properly. A major disaster recovery had been done by the GSTN earlier in June and July.
