The Goods and Services Tax Network ( GSTN ) issued Advisory No. 626 on March 8, 2024, highlighting the successful integration of E-Waybill services with four additional Invoice Registration Portal ( IRP ) portals facilitated through the National Informatics Centre ( NIC ).

This new facility complements the existing services available on the NIC-IRP portal, making E-Waybill services, along with E-Invoicing, available across all six IRPs.

In its 43rd meeting, the GST Council approved GSTN’s proposal to collaborate with private industry players and establish additional e-invoice registration portals. This initiative aims to enhance the country’s e-invoice registration capacity, complementing the existing single IRP platform operated by NIC.

By partnering with new IRPs, GSTN aims to expand e-invoice participation among businesses mandated under GST, necessitating increased capacity in the e-invoice registration system. Detailed framework and governance for multiple IRPs by GSTN have been outlined to implement the GST Council’s directives.
