Haryana ACB Arrests Income Tax Operator for Accepting Rs. 15,000 Bribe

The Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau ( ACB ) has taken swift action by apprehending Dinesh Kumar, a computer operator from the Central Income Tax and Service Division Range-22 ( City Area ) GST Area, during the act of accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 in Karnal District.

The arrest was conducted by the ACB team on Thursday after receiving a complaint indicating that Kumar was allegedly demanding a bribe in exchange for halting the suspension of a GST number.

Prompted by the complaint, the ACB team devised a plan to catch the accused in the act and successfully arrested him red-handed while accepting the bribe. The government spokesperson confirmed on Friday that the case is currently under investigation by the ACB team, with efforts focused on gathering necessary evidence.

A formal case against the accused has been registered at the ACB Karnal police station, marking a decisive move by the authorities to address allegations of corruption and bribery within the Central Income Tax and Service Division. The occurrence highlights the dedication of law enforcement agencies to maintain integrity and transparency in their efforts to combat corruption within public services. Subsequent progress in the case will hinge on the evidence gathered throughout the ongoing investigation.
