Here’s How you can Check the Validity of HSN Code or Report issue

Validity of HSN Code - HSN - Taxscan

A GST taxpayer with a turnover of more than Rs 5 crore will now have to provide a six-digit HSN tariff code on the invoices issued for supplies of taxable goods and services. This new rule came into effect on April 1, 2021.

In order to check whether a HSN Code is valid or not, please visit GST Portal, click on ‘Services’, then select ‘User Services’ and then search HSN Code.

The HSN Master for download in excel format will also be published shortly on the same page.

Wherever there is no 6-digit code with specific description in the HSN Master. vis-a-vis specific goods, the corresponding 8-digit HSN may be reported.

If the HSN of any Goods/Service is otherwise valid but not accepted on GST Portal or e-invoice Portal or e-way Bill portal, raise a ticket on GST Self-Service Portal at https://selfservice.astsystem.in/, then click on Report Issue then Type HSN in ‘Type of Issue/Concern’ in the search box and then Select a relevant sub-category.
