The Official Liquidator at the High Court of Gujarat has announced an empanelment drive for Chartered Accountants ( CA ) and Chartered Accountant firms, calling for professionals with valid memberships and Certificates of Practice ( CoP ) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India ( ICAI ) to apply.
Applicants are expected to possess a track record of strong professional performance, preferably with empanelment experience at nationalized banks, government entities, or reputable corporate institutions. A valid ICAI membership number and Certificate of Practice are mandatory, and prior inclusion in panels of Official Liquidators or comparable organizations will be taken as an advantage.
The prescribed application form is available on the websites of the Hon’ble High Court of Gujarat, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, and ICAI starting January 6, 2025. The completed forms, along with all requisite supporting documents, must be submitted in a sealed envelope to the Office of the Official Liquidator by January 24, 2025, up to 4:00 PM. Current panel members are also required to reapply.

After the committee of selection finalizes its recommendations, the shortlisted names will be forwarded to the Hon’ble High Court of Gujarat for approval. All selected Chartered Accountants will need to sign an undertaking agreeing not to refuse assignments from the Official Liquidator except in exceptional circumstances.
In the statement, the Official Liquidator, Shobhit Srivastava ( ICLS ), confirmed the Court’s proactive approach to strengthening financial oversight and due diligence in liquidation matters. “We encourage all eligible Chartered Accountants and firms to submit their applications, as we aim to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and compliance,” the statement read.
