ICAI and JAIN Deemed-to-be University Announces Mutual Collaboration for Academic Enhancement

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India ( ICAI )  and JAIN ( Deemed-to-be-University ) have formalised their collaborative efforts through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU ), marking a significant advancement in the realm of commerce and accountancy education.

The MoU, signed on January 22nd during the National Education Summit on Commerce and Accountancy ( NES-CA ) 2024, is designed to propel shared objectives and foster a robust partnership in the fields of commerce, accountancy, and finance, as officially announced.

The primary focus of this collaboration is to enhance academic cooperation in specialised commerce courses, encompassing B.Com, B.Com ( Hons ), M.Com, Certificate, and Diploma programs. With the integration of CA coaching into the B.Com curriculum, the aim is to elevate the quality of commerce education, positioning JAIN University’s School of Commerce as a premier institution offering BCom with CA coaching, not just in Bangalore but on a national scale.

The collaboration between ICAI and JAIN is set to develop joint programs that promote intellectual and cultural growth within their academic domains, establishing a mutually beneficial alliance, as per the official statement.

The signing ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Vice-Chairman of the University Grants Commission, New Delhi, along with CA. Aniket Sunil Talati, President of ICAI, CA. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal, Vice President of ICAI, CA. Vishal Doshi, Chairman of the Board of Studies, CA. Dayaniwas Sharma, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Studies, and faculty members from JAIN ( Deemed-to-be-University ).

As outlined in the MoU, ICAI will conduct specific training sessions in alignment with the New Education Policy, 2020, and arrange special sessions for students conducted by the Chartered Accountants fraternity.

Moreover, the MoU will facilitate a faculty development program, focusing on advancing teaching practices relevant to the domain and inspiring faculty members to contribute to a competitive teaching and learning environment. ICAI will lead this program and nominate up to two experts per subject to enrich the governance structure of both institutions.

Additionally, the University will now acknowledge the Chartered Accountants Qualification as equivalent to a Post Graduate Degree for admission to Ph.D. programs in Management or Commerce and allied fields.
