ICAI Announces Dates for Foundation, Intermediate and Final Examinations – September 2025

The examinations will be conducted across 291 cities in India, and at nine international locations

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has officially announced the schedule for the Chartered Accountants Foundation, Intermediate, and Final Examinations to be held in September 2025.

As per the official communication dated 30th May 2025, the examinations are set to take place on designated dates in both India and nine overseas centres, subject to adequate registrations at each location.

For the Final Course Examination under Regulation 31, Group I papers will be held on the 3rd, 6th, and 8th of September 2025, while Group II papers are scheduled for the 10th, 12th, and 14th of September 2025.

The Intermediate Course Examination under Regulation 28F will be conducted for Group I on the 4th, 7th, and 9th of September 2025, and for Group II on the 11th, 13th, and 15th of September 2025.

The Foundation Course Examination under Regulation 25F will be held on the 16th, 18th, 20th, and 22nd of September 2025. Notably, no examination will be held on Friday, 5th September 2025, in observance of Milad-un-Nabi, a gazetted Central Government holiday.

Candidates shall have a 15-minute advance reading time from 1:45 PM to 2:00 PM IST for most papers, except for the MCQ-based Foundation Papers 3 and 4, where this provision is not available.

Papers 3 and 4 of the Foundation exam will be of 2 hours, Paper 6 of the Final course will span 4 hours, and all other papers across the three levels will be of 3 hours each, commencing at 2:00 PM IST.

The examinations will be conducted across 291 cities in India, covering every major state and union territory. Additionally, the exams shall also be held in nine international locations, namely: Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, Kathmandu (Nepal), Kuwait, Muscat, Riyadh (KSA), and Thimpu (Bhutan). Examination timings at overseas centres are aligned to local equivalents of 2:00 PM IST on the same dates as well.

Candidates must apply online through the Self Service Portal (SSP) at https://eservices.icai.org. First-time applicants are required to register on the SSP platform using their SRN (Student Registration Number) and update their details including photograph and signature.

Candidates have the option to answer their papers in either English or Hindi, as per their preference.

Application forms will be available online starting from 5th July 2025 and can be submitted without late fees till 18th July 2025. Forms submitted with a late fee of ₹600 (or US $10 for foreign centres) will be accepted until 21st July 2025. Candidates shall be able to revise/change their preferred examination city or examination medium during the window from 22nd to 24th July 2025. Candidates may access detailed instructions regarding examination form filling, fee payment, and other formalities are available on the ICAI’s e-services portal and the official website, www.icai.org
