The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the archiving of Unique Document Identification Number(UDIN) after one year of their generation to ease off the load on the servers. The archiving provision comes into force with immediate effect.The members can search the archived UDINs in the portal itself.
The announcements states as follows:
“It has been decided to archive UDINs after one year of their generation to ease off the load on the servers. Implementation of archiving UDINs has been scheduled in the phased manner beginning for the year 2019 in the first phase, followed for the years 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, thereafter.”
Steps to search archived UDINs in Portal
UDIN
The Unique Document Identification Number (UDIN) is an 18-digit unique identifier generated by the system for each document that has been certified or attested by Chartered Accountants in full-time practice and recorded in the UDIN portal (https://udin.icai.org). The format of the 18-digit UDIN is as follows:
The 18- digits UDIN (YY MMMMMM AANNNAANNN) will be like;
Eg: 19304576AKTSBN1359
